Full Survey Result for JKW's Teambuilding 2010

To promote Open and Honest Communication in this month of May, we append below the full result from our survey on JKW's Teambuilding 2010. The Committee would like to thank all staff who participated in the survey for the feedbacks/comments provided. We're confident that future committee will take into account these feedbacks, as this year's committee did with last session's feedbacks.

Feedbacks from question 10 are:
  1. Kena buat activities yang fun tapi meet the objective. Management should jadi the observer instead of participant.
  2. 50% : 50% Indoor & Outdoor
  3. The timing must be right to ensure everyone could participate i.e avoid exam times/school holidays etc.
  4. To have more outdoor activities.
  5. Compared with the 2 TBs had in the past, i would say that this year TB is the best in overall ie. course content, activities and venues.
  6. I would like to suggest more outdoor activities.
  7. The facilitator needs to stress more on the message/lessons learn out of the activities. Perhaps for the last session, the facilitator should wrap up by recapping on the message/lessons learn.
  8. If there is one thing I can suggest, I would prefer a regular t-shirt rather than the close-fitting one for the outdoor activites. Everything else was great. Well done.
  9. I would like to suggest that, for future teambuilding events, to let everyone have a role in organizing it, no matter how small. This way, everyone would be fully engaged in making the event a success. Otherwise, should the responsibility for organizing the event be given to only a handful of people, the rest would feel that they are merely attendees and would not participate as much.
  10. I would like to suggest the period for the teambuilding not less than 2 days.
  11. Kalau boleh diselitkan satu slot secara keislaman yang relate to our teambuilding's objective. Tahniah & syabas kpd semua warga kerja yg terlibat.
  12. What about teambuilding in pangkor? boat ride would sounds fun!
  13. Nil.
  14. Show up the objective of teambuilding.
  15. Set a rule, for DD and D they can participate but not to be appoint as a team leader / captain during any of teambuilding game session. They should be as an observer only. When they involved as a team leader it's will not creat open and honest communication as require in JKW i CODES.
  16. Limited just 1 day only. Friday half day and Saturday.
  17. So far, I'm very satisfied with this year Teambuilding, and looking forward for something like this in future.
  18. We may want to consider 'Pengisian Jiwa' for muslim staff.
  19. Make full use of available time for activities that can be participated by everyone. This is the apportunity to boost morale and spirit of teamwork.
  20. To emphasise more on inner's believe - kerohanian.
  21. It's good if everyone come with a clear mind.We should leave our title, pride and pre-assumption about the team buidling so we can benefit most of it. Maybe we should include the spiritual aspect too.
  22. The current content was fulfilling, but in future we may need to add-on activities that relates to spiritual.
  23. Perhaps to provide some relevant notes, reading materials for participants to prepare themselves prior to the event, however the reading materials should be light in nature.
  24. Must be punctually all the time - sense of urgency.
  25. To break away from a stereotype teambuilding which requires activities outside the office and to promote on-site, on-the-job spirit of working for the greater good as one department. in other words, build the team from within.
  26. To do more outdoor activities.
  27. The best teambuilding ever! The room was spectacular, the foods were excellent, the activities were great, and the karaoke session was really fun! Good job to all!

Signing off for the 2010 Teambuilding Committee. Thank you and have a nice day!

T-shirt for Teambuilding

The Committee would like to thank Cik Marina for her view on the provision of t-shirt to participants of the Teambuilding.

Based on the discussion with the vendor, only short sleeve shirts are available from the supplier. The committee took note of the possible issue which could be raised by the female staff from providing short sleeve t-shirts. Hence, we would advise the ladies to wear special 'hand sock' when wearing the t-shirts. The committee would leave this to the staff to decide as it is a matter of individual preference.

For everyone's information, the purpose of providing the t-shirts to staff is two-fold:
1. To promote the department's new shared values (i-CODES)
2. To be used for future intra-department games organised by Kelab JKW

To achieve these 2 objectives, below are the features of the t-shirt:
1. i-CODES logo will be embossed at the back of the shirt
2. The t-shirt colour will be based on the grouping for sport as provided by AJK Sukan, Kelab JKW.

Notwithstanding the above, the Committee would like to apologise for the confusion caused from our miscommunication and the unavailability of long sleeve t-shirts. We welcome any further suggestion/comments from members of the department.

Thank you.

Warm regards,
2010 Teambuilding's Committee Members

JKW Teambuilding 2010 (Value-Based Teambuilding)

As most of you might have heard, we will be having our teambuilding from 23rd to 25th of April 2010. That’s 3 weeks from now! So, we humbly plead all of you to block your diaries to ensure each and every one of us will be able to attend the teambuilding together.

The committee has taken into account all the comments and feedback given for the past 2 teambuilding sessions. We promise that this year’s teambuilding will be different! Firstly, it will be a value based teambuilding. Wondering why it is called value based??

Well, it means the activities are specifically tailored to promote the internalization process of the Department’s new values (i-CODES) as well as the Bank’s core shared values (i-ACTED). The activities will be group-centered and customized to demonstrate specific values from i-CODES and i-ACTED. It will not be too physically demanding, yet will be enjoyable to the diversified demographic groups in JKW.

Secondly, great emphasize has been given to ensure this year’s session will be as comfortable as possible. The committee has tried to get the best venue with reasonably nice rooms and amenities (which, of course, within the approved budget limit). The standard for the rooms and amenities has been set at quite a high level by the management as most comments from past years’ teambuilding revolves around the accommodation issue.

After much debate and careful consideration, JKW management has agreed that this year’s teambuilding to be held at Klana Resort Seremban. There are a few things that we can guarantee for this year’s session:

1. You will not have to wash your own plate!
2. Somebody from room service department will make your room. Also, your towels will be replaced every day! (Go green and you can reuse your towel…)
3. The bathroom will be clean and working!

Pictures from our site visit can be viewed below or you could go to
http://www.klanaresort.com.my/ to have some idea on how the place looks like.

Meanwhile, the teambuilding activities will be conducted by Dr. Salleh Koyakoti from SD Institute. Having engaged by more than 10 departments in the Bank and handle various HCDC courses, Dr Salleh is no stranger to the Bank Negara Malaysia. His track records are impeccable and he is highly recommended by our colleagues from other departments who have utilized his expertise.

If you wish to treat your families to a weekend holiday in Seremban, we have made arrangement with the resort for a special rate. Rates for spouse and family members will be advised later. This special arrangement could be useful for staffs who cannot afford to be away from their families due to certain constraint/commitment such as ‘feeding’ or single mothers, families without maid, etc.

If you have any concern or queries, please feel free to discuss this with any of the committee members (please refer below for the names of the committee members).

Also, please return to this blog for more updates and information on not only the teambuilding, but also other activities planned by the members of the Taskforce on Internalising JKW’s Mission and Values. Stay tune!

Bulan Integriti

Assalamulaikum and a very good day to all,

Do you know that March is 'Bulan Integriti' for our department? One of the various programmes planned for the year by the Taskforce on 'Internalising JKW's Mission and Values' is to organise a campaign on each of the values each month, starting with INTEGRITY.

So what is Integrity? Apparently, it is a big word and could take up a lot of meanings. Hence, to kick-off the 'Bulan Integriti', we will bombard your mail box with some definitions and examples of what integrity could mean - starting with this one!

Some good examples on "Integrity":-

- Acknowledging mistakes and not looking for scapegoats
- Behaving in a consistent manner towards bosses, colleagues and subordinates
- Respecting commitments and being true to one's word

Let's internalise it together!!!!!!!!!!!
